MAJOR UPDATE!

TBA Studio wishes everyone a Happy New Year 2026! 🎉

To kick off the new year, we’ve updated TypeCaster on itch.io to match the current demo available on Steam. This update is a big one, and it brings the itch.io version in line with our latest vision for the game.

What Changed?

🗡️ Boss Availability Update

  • We’ve removed all bosses after Loss the Moss.
  • If you managed to defeat those bosses before this update, consider it a special gift — they will not be available again until the final release 👀

⚖️ Major Gameplay Balancing

  • Rebalanced spell damagespell cooldownsenemy attackshealth valuesboss statsequipment, and potions.
  • Combat should now feel tighter, fairer, and more satisfying overall.

✨ New Spells Added

  • Yes, you can now cast new spells.
  • More variety, more chaos, more typing pressure.

🗺️ Level Design Changes

  • Multiple areas have been redesigned to improve pacing, flow, and challenge.

🎨 HUGE Visual Overhaul

  • Massive improvements to:
    • Environments
    • GUI / HUD
    • Particles & visual effects
    • Overall presentation
  • The game now looks much closer to our final target quality.

🎬 Cutscenes & The Narrator

  • We’ve added cutscenes to enhance storytelling.
  • Introducing a special character: The Narrator, who delivers and guides these moments in true TypeCaster fashion.

🎵 New Audio

  • Brand-new SFX and BGM to better match the intensity and tone of the game.

🔥 Challenge Mode

  • For those seeking pain and glory:
    • Challenge Mode has been added.
    • Test your skills by attempting to defeat Xander the Salamander 🦎🔥

🚀 Performance & Bug Fixes

  • General performance improvements
  • Many bug fixes to make the experience smoother and more stable.
